Prizes and scholarships worth $270,000 will be distributed to train and award the Kingdom’s female journalists. $160,000 a year will be allocated to scholarships for training at a journalism center with a special women’s section. $54,000 will go annually to journalists with 15 or more years of experience. $27,000 will be awarded to “the year’s best woman journalist”to Arabic text chat. The project is meant to compensate for the lack of women’s journalism departments in Saudi universities and training institutes. Princess bin Salman says that Saudi female journalists have “excelled despite working in difficult social and professional conditions.” based on her work and another $27,000 to a female journalist “who has distinguished herself,” says the princess.
