December 7-10, 2006: These are the official dates for the second annual Middle East Broadcasters Conference and Exposition (MEB 2006). Building on the success of our first event, MEB 2006 will feature an expanded exhibition of broadcast technology and programming as well as a more in-depth series of conferences, technical seminars, and the MEB-HD Talent Showcase. Most of all, we are looking forward to honoring the achievements of broadcast professionals in the region at our first annual MEB Awards Ceremony. A number of major broadcast technology manufacturers, including both past exhibitors and new companies, have already reserved exhibit space at MEB 2006. They have been encouraged by the strength of our last show, which attracted visitors from 25 countries. We are also in the process of bringing in even more production houses to offer you an even stronger selection of new programming opportunities. We are currently accepting proposals for topics for conference sessions. We would like to involve you more in the decision-making process on our conferences. What do you want to learn about? What do you want to talk about? What are your hopes and concerns about the future of broadcasting in the region? Is there an elephant in the room that no one is talking about? Let us know. Whether you draft a full conference proposal or send a one-line email, we would like to hear what you think. Call us at 961-1-989098 or email

. The MEB-HD Talent Showcase will let broadcasting students from around the region show off what they can do with the latest technology on the market. Our technical seminars, designed for the people who work behind the scenes, will provide concrete information to help you produce a high-quality product in a shorter amount of time. The MEB Awards will be truly special. Winners, who will receive the 24k gold-plated Mebby trophy, will take pride in the knowledge that they were elected by their peers. Leading up to this awards ceremony will be a rigorous selection process ensuring that the Mebby only goes to those who truly deserve it. First, MEB will accept submissions for awards from television stations and production houses in the Middle East. Then, a jury of respected broadcasters will make five nominations in each of 25 broadcasting award categories. Members of the MEB Association, which is composed of broadcast professionals from across the Middle East, will then vote for the best nominees in each category. The winners of these elections will be honored for their achievement at the MEB Awards Ceremony in December. The MEB 2006 exhibits will take place from December 7-9, the conferences will run from the 7th to the 8th and the awards ceremony will take place on the 10th. I will see you there!
