For the visionaries looking to bring IPTV to the Middle East, Amino has developed a low cost yet highly capable set-top box, the AmiNET124. IPTV technology provides television signals over high speed internet connections, rather than over satellite, RF, or traditional cable lines. The AmiNET124 offers support for the new H.264 standard, also known as MPEG-4 AVC. H.264 compression technology uses only 1-2 Mbps of bandwidth for standard definition – almost half of what is required by MPEG-2 compression.
The AmiNET124’s efficient design allows it to run entirely on a single DSP processor, which allows for a significant cost reduction. It is also compatible with middleware from all of the major IPTV companies, including the ReadyLinks Smartfoot and Coaxsys TVnet/AC home networking adapters, which eliminate the need to lay CAT5 cable around the home.
It might be a good idea to use the rear picture in addition to one of the others. This will show people that the input is an internet connection and the output is to a TV.
