Glidecam Smooth Shooter

by
Improving on its own technology, Glidecam is now offering the Smooth Shooter, a reasonably priced body-mounted stabilization system for small cameras. The Smooth Shooter system features a support arm and a support vest that attaches to Glidecam’s 2000 Pro and 4000 Pro handheld stabilization systems without any modification. Donning this gear grants the camera operator the ability to make some incredibly smooth shots, even when running down a street, riding in a car, or going up stairs.
The whole rig weighs less than 3.5kg without a camera. As with any body-mounted stabilization system, you will need to train your muscles to use it, so try to practice in small increments if you have never used anything like this. Once you get the hang of the Smooth Shooter, it will produce some amazing footage. The Smooth Shooter’s compact size compared to other stabilization systems gives the camera operator a great deal of freedom in creativity with shots.
The Smooth Shooter retails for $1,499. For cameras up to 2.75 kilos, the Smooth Shooter works best with the Glidecam 2000 Pro ($369). For cameras in the 1.8 to 4.5 kilo range, Glidecam recommends the 4000 Pro ($399). A monitor and other accessories are available.
