The Gitzo tripods are built with new six-crossed carbon fiber that is 30% lighter than previous models, reducing the overall weight of the tripod up to 17%. The G1257 and G1258 models of the 6X tripods will support up to 8kg, but weigh in at just under 1.6kg. This provides plenty of capacity to handle almost any HDV camera and a large number of smaller DV cameras. Gitzo builds all of their tripods with their Anti Leg Rotation system allows for a quick setup without compromising on strength.
Perfect for traveling videographers and reporters, the G1257 and G1258 models sell for $485 and $543, respectively. Versions are also available with a ball joint-mounted center column that allows you to level the camera from a center column rather than adjusting all three legs. These sell for $667 and $716.
