Wevi Cam~Wave

by

Wevi’s Cam~Wave transmits the video and audio signal of an ENG camera up to 50 meters, allowing a director or video assist to monitor a camera without any wire connecting them. The Cam~Wave transmitter attaches to the back of most ENG cameras between the battery and the camera using a V-mount plate and the receiver attaches or sits next to the monitor.
The camera link makes use of wireless LAN IEEE 802.11a technology for the 5.2 GHz transmission, which can be made in either composite, S-Video PAL or NTSC with stereo audio. In order to best preserve the original sound and image, Wevi chose the MPEG-2 compression format. The transmission rate automatically adapts to current conditions, varying from 24 to 12 to 6 Mbps. The automatic error recovery feature ensures that the image is never lost.
The complete Cam~Wave system will be available in the Middle East for approximately $2,100.
