MBC is hitting the airwaves with a slew of new and reformatted shows for the 2006 season. The free-to-air broadcaster has revamped its primetime news program News at 9ksa, which will now to be hosted by anchorwomen Nicole Tannouri and Rania Dagher, who will both be standing up as they deliver the news. Meanwhile prominent celebrity interviewer Razan Moughrabi is back to host her new one-hour entertainment show Shahrazan, which will feature coverage of award shows and interviews with international stars. The network is also touting its new reality show, The Investor, hosted by Saudi businessman Walid Juffali. Sponsored by BMW, the show pits 13 pairs against one another to complete various business assignments, with the winner receiving a $500,000 investment in his or her project of choice. The two-person teams must be related, as the show is aimed at “highlighting the family aspect of business in the Arab world,” MBC said.
